Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Chemical Plant Technician to undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature. You will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests reporting findings to a laboratory manager. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under and handle possible hazardous conditions (chemicals). The candidate will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and procedures. •This position is a extremely labor intensive, physically demanding, and may frequently encounter a soiled environment . You will be required to manually break down, clean and restart processes, as well as, replace old drums on the floor before they are empty. Dumping and cleaning tanks will be necessary to maintain. The required candidate will be able to work necessary overtime when needed. Overtime could be at the end of the work shift or some project may be conducted on Saturdays a couple times a month. Also, the ideal candidate will be able bend, stand, twist, lift (50# or so) on a daily basis. Responsibilities Receive, label and analyze samples from chemical tanks used in the plating process. Manually add chemicals of many forms to the plating process safely. Identify all buckets that need filled each day and what goes in them (Nitric, Muriatic, Brightener, Starter, etc.) Make up Muriatic/Tin and refill tank when needed. Fill Zinc Balls at lines that are in need Mag out lines in line plating baths Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods Organize, clean and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
