Job Summary The Research Scientist will work in the GPS laboratories for stable isotope geochemistry with responsibilities for developing and conducting appropriate analytical and experimental methods, using those methods to study a set of samples obtained from collaborators, and prepare results for presentation and publication. Essential Job Duties Background scholarship regarding steroidal compounds and their isotopic properties. Training on Orbitrap mass spectrometers, particularly focused on isotope ratio analysis. Development of methods for Orbitrap isotopic analysis of steroidal compounds. Analysis of steroidal compounds from synthetic and human sources. Processing and organization of resulting data. Presentation of results in conference lectures and/or manuscripts. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Ph.D. in organic isotope geochemistry. 3 years of research experience following completion of a PhD. Knowledge of organic chemistry, mass spectrometry, isotope chemistry. Operation of mass spectrometers; wet-lab chemistry for organic purification. Required Documents Resume.
