15-Jul-2026 Job Summary The Bates Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow, who will measure and analyze emissions of volatile organic compounds from agriculture during the NASA FarmFlux campaign. Who We Are The postdoctoral fellow will join the Bates Lab in Mechanical Engineering at CU Boulder, a group of researchers using diverse modeling and measurement techniques to study the sources, fates, and impacts of organic compounds in the atmosphere. The fellow will also work closely with the Tropospheric Chemistry group at
NOAA CSL.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for carrying out research tasks related to the measurement and analysis of volatile organic compounds during NASA's FarmFlux campaign. This includes preparation, setup, and calibration of the
NOAA CSL
LToF-PTR-MS; operation of the instrument for the FarmFlux large aircraft deployments; data processing and analysis during and after the deployment, including calculation of eddy covariance fluxes from measured concentrations; participation in FarmFlux science team meetings; and dissemination of results to the scientific community through publications and conference presentations.
