Description Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientist II/III to join the Antibody Generation Group within the Biotherapeutics Department located at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT. This position will be responsible for designing, executing, and interpreting Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) experiments to characterize binding interactions and kinetics of biotherapeutic modalities, including antibodies and protein based therapeutics. This role applies advanced kinetic data analysis to inform lead selection, affinity maturation, and developability assessments in biotherapeutic discovery programs. This individual will be expected to make major contributions to the generation of best-in-class and first-in-class therapeutics to address major unmet medical needs. Contributes to R D discovery research by performing scientific research. Implements protocols as required. Provides expertise within a technical specialty required for skill center productivity. Duties & Responsibilities Independently design, execute, and interpret routine SPR experiments to characterize antibody-antigen interactions, generating high-quality kinetic data that supports antibody discovery and research objectives. Apply established kinetic analysis approaches to evaluate binding interactions, analyze experimental data, draw scientific conclusions with input from supervisor and technical teams as appropriate, and effectively communicate results to project teams and at internal meetings. Demonstrate a clear understanding of assigned assays and generated data, including their application within the antibody discovery process, ensuring accurate interpretation, documentation, and reporting of results. Complete routine laboratory procedures independently and efficiently, requiring limited guidance on technical protocols and experimental execution. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain SPR instrumentation and associated laboratory equipment, ensuring instrument performance and data integrity. Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new SPR methodologies, technologies, and best practices to enhance assay performance, efficiency, and data quality. Support laboratory excellence through process improvements, organization, and adherence to established workflows that promote operational effectiveness and reproducible results. Collaborate with cross-functional discovery teams to provide data-driven insights that support project progression and decision-making. Comply with applicable regulations, SOPs, and company policies, maintaining accurate scientific records and performing all work in a safe and compliant manner.
