Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, characterize, and validate fit-for-purpose analytical methods supporting lentiviral vector and CAR-T cell characterization, with emphasis on multicolor flow cytometry, cell-based assays, and molecular methods.
- Design and execute experiments to establish assay conditions and evaluate performance characteristics, including accuracy, precision, specificity, sensitivity, linearity, range, and robustness, as applicable to the method and its intended use.
- Review scientific literature and emerging technologies to inform assay development, improve existing methods, and identify new analytical capabilities relevant to cell and gene therapy.
- Perform established analytical assays supporting internal programs and external client projects, including CAR-T phenotypic and functional characterization and lentiviral vector functional titer assays.
- Perform supporting cell and molecular biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture, cloning, DNA/RNA purification, in vitro transcription, qPCR, and dPCR.
- Critically analyze and interpret experimental data, assess assay performance and data quality, identify sources of biological or technical variability, troubleshoot unexpected results, and define scientifically justified next steps.
- Maintain accurate and complete experimental records and prepare analytical methods, protocols, qualification or validation documentation, technical reports, and data summaries.
- Communicate scientific results, conclusions, technical challenges, and recommendations to internal project teams and external clients, as appropriate.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams and manage multiple analytical activities and changing priorities while maintaining scientific rigor, data integrity, and project timelines. Essential Qualifications
- PhD or MSc in Immunology, Virology, Molecular Biology, or a related field, with relevant experience in viral vectors and CAR-T cell therapy.
- Extensive hands-on experience with cell-based and multiparameter flow cytometry assays, including assay optimization, panel design, gating strategies, and data analysis.
- Experience with qPCR and/or dPCR; experience with lentiviral vector or CAR-T characterization is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in analytical method development and characterization, including experimental design, assay performance assessment, and troubleshooting.
- Strong scientific judgment and analytical skills, with the ability to critically interpret data, investigate variability, and define appropriate next steps.
- Ability to independently review scientific literature and apply relevant findings or emerging technologies to assay development.
- Strong scientific writing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable to changing project priorities and workloads.
