Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations within the Core Laboratory. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality laboratory services, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and team development across key testing disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Immunodiagnostics , along with proven leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily operations of the Core Laboratory while ensuring quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Supervise laboratory staff by providing coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development. Partner with pathologists, physicians, and healthcare leadership to support patient care initiatives and operational goals. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory test results while maintaining productivity and resource utilization. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, patient satisfaction, and workflow efficiency. Maintain competency in assigned laboratory disciplines and serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert. Monitor staffing levels, scheduling, and departmental performance to meet service expectations. Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, FDA, The Joint Commission , and other applicable regulatory standards. Develop and maintain inspection readiness through quality assurance and compliance programs. Participate in budgeting, resource planning, and operational performance improvement initiatives. Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology , or an equivalent scientific discipline. Current MLS (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) certification (or equivalent discipline-specific certification appropriate for the laboratory area). Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or reference laboratory. Prior leadership experience as a Lead Medical Technologist, Team Lead, Supervisor, or Laboratory Manager preferred.
