Overview This role will join a team of researchers in developing new formulations of protective and anti-corrosion coatings for metals. We support long-term federal research contracts in aerospace and ground vehicle support. Primary Responsibilities Conduct protective coating formulation, testing, and corrosion evaluation. Formulate and test coatings for customer trials and R D projects. Maintain a safe and clean lab environment consistent with existing Elinor Safety Office protocols. Participate in scientific meetings. Generate, document, and report data and technical progress to internal and external stakeholder. Qualifications Minimum Education/Experience B.S. in polymers and coatings, chemistry, or a closely related field with a minimum of two semesters of organic chemistry 2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment Demonstrated experience with: Coatings formulations, characterization, and testing. Corrosion protection, corrosion inhibition and electrochemical testing. Common coatings laboratory instrumentation. Word processing, spreadsheets, scheduling, and data analysis software. Communication and writing skills to enable working with multi-disciplinary groups of individuals. Setting priorities and respond to changing needs from multiple sources. Classification and Compensation Full Time/Benefited Salary starting at $54k+, depending on experience 100% paid employee healthcare, vision, dental, disability and life insurance Starting PTO is 16 days annually with 14 paid holidays and 12 paid sick days 401k match Voluntary HSA, Flex, Employee Assistance Program and more
