Job Description Job Title Analytical Chemist Department Quality Unit Reports To Manager, Analytical Services Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process materials, finished bulk, and stability samples. Calibrate, maintain and operate laboratory equipment such as HPLC/UPLC, ICP-MS, IR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, pH meter and balances. Compile laboratory test data and perform appropriate analyses that include physical (solubility, viscosity, sp. rotation), chemical (titration) and analytical (FTIR, HPLC, ICP-MS, UV-Vis) testing etc. Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including test forms and logbooks. Evaluate analytical methods and procedures and recommend improvements. Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release. Participate in investigating questionable test results. Ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols. Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in analytical chemistry or a related field. 2+ years of experience in quality assurance/control laboratory is desirable. Knowledge of analytical equipments/instruments such as FTIR, UV-Vis, HPLC/UPLC, ICP-MS, auto-titrators, micro-pipettor etc. is required. Be familiar with 21 CFR Part-111 GMP regulations.
