Job Summary:
Job Description The Operator II
  • Formulation Technician is a critical member of the manufacturing team responsible for building and formulating final products that move forward to Quality Control (QC) testing.
This role focuses on precise formulation, filling, and packaging of products ranging from micro-scale volumes (microtubes) to large-scale batches, ensuring all runs are highly controlled, repeatable, and compliant. Formulation Technicians are the heart of the production team, bridging hands-on lab work with scalable manufacturing. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Formulate and build final products that will be submitted for QC testing
  • Fill and package products into microtubes and final containers with high precision
  • Perform concentration calculations and adjustments to ensure formulation accuracy
  • Operate formulation, filling, and packaging equipment across multiple batch sizes
  • Execute production runs that are tightly controlled, repeatable, and audit-ready
  • Conduct standard in-process quality checks to verify product integrity
  • Handle chemicals safely while adhering to PPE and safety protocols
  • Accurately document formulation steps, batch details, and production data
  • Work closely with optical density and QC teams to ensure products are ready for the next manufacturing step
  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant lab and production spaces

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience in formulation, lab-based manufacturing, or production environments
  • Experience working with pipettes, microtubes, and precision filling techniques
  • Ability to operate formulation, filling, and packaging equipment
  • Experience accurately documenting work for downstream QC testing
  • Strong attention to detail and process discipline
  • Background in life sciences, chemistry, biology, or related lab environments
  • Experience supporting optical density (OD
  • based processes or teams (e.g., PerkinElmer systems)
  • Prior work in GMP, regulated manufacturing, or QC-driven environments Experience scaling formulations from bench-top to large-volume tanks
