Job Description

KVK Tech is seeking a motivated QC Jr. Chemist to join our team in Newtown, PA. The QC Jr. Chemist will support analytical testing and laboratory operations for raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, stability samples, and product development samples within an oral solid dosage pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This entry-level role performs testing and sample preparation under appropriate supervision while developing practical proficiency in pharmaceutical laboratory techniques. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong academic foundation in chemistry, careful attention to detail, and a commitment to accurate documentation, laboratory safety, and continuous technical development. This position's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following: Perform basic and routine analytical testing using approved procedures under supervision until trained and qualified to perform assigned methods independently. Prepare samples, standards, reagents, buffers, and mobile phases accurately and in accordance with approved procedures and laboratory safety requirements. Support wet chemistry, pH testing, titrations, loss on drying, Karl Fischer moisture testing, UV-Vis, FT-IR, dissolution, HPLC, and other analytical techniques as assigned. Document laboratory activities accurately, completely, and contemporaneously in accordance with cGMP, ALCOA, and Data Integrity requirements. Verify that laboratory instruments, balances, glassware, and equipment meet calibration, qualification, cleanliness, and readiness requirements before use. Support sample handling, laboratory inventory, equipment cleaning, housekeeping, reagent labeling, waste management, and maintenance of an inspection-ready laboratory. We are looking for applicants with: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a closely related chemistry-based scientific discipline required. 0-1 year of laboratory experience; relevant academic laboratory coursework, internships, co-ops, or prior pharmaceutical laboratory exposure may be considered. Foundational understanding of chemistry, laboratory safety, sample preparation, and scientific calculations involving concentrations, dilutions, standards, and unit conversions. Basic familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV-Vis, FT-IR, dissolution, Karl Fischer moisture testing, pH measurement, titration, or wet chemistry. Ability to follow approved procedures, test methods, specifications, and written instructions accurately while recognizing when questions or unexpected results require escalation. Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to produce clear, accurate, and contemporaneous laboratory documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with LIMS, Empower, cGMP, or pharmaceutical Data Integrity requirements preferred but not required.
