We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join our environmental laboratory in Round Rock, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven Chemist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment and is passionate about hands-on analytical instrumentation, complex problem-solving, and delivering high-quality data that directly supports environmental compliance, public safety, and critical regulatory decision-making. What You'll Do Perform analysis on environmental and quality control samples in accordance with EPA methods and laboratory procedures Prepare, digest, and process samples using approved analytical methods, SOPs, and regulatory protocols Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain analytical instrumentation Review, interpret, validate, and document analytical data within LIMS Perform QA/QC checks and identify instrument drift, matrix interferences, analytical discrepancies, or sample anomalies requiring corrective action Support method development, transfer, verification, optimization, and troubleshooting activities Assist with CAPA investigations, SOP updates, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain accurate laboratory records and collaborate with team members to meet turnaround times and productivity goals Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline 2+ years of professional analytical laboratory experience in a regulated environment Proven hands-on experience operating, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation, including ICP-MS, GC-MS, GC, HPLC, and IC Demonstrated experience with analytical method development, optimization, validation, verification, and implementation Working knowledge of laboratory quality systems, including QA/QC, data review, documentation, and regulatory compliance Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) What We Offer Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Employer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays Paid parental leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Work Schedule Full-time, on-site position Ability to work outside of scheduled hours as required to meet operational or workload needs Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
