As our Laboratory Clinical Research Assistant , you'll play an important role in turning research visits into meaningful progress. From working directly with patients and collecting samples to preparing lab materials and supporting our research team, your work will help move studies forward and contribute to the development of new medications and therapies for people living with diabetes, obesity, and related conditions. You won't just be working in a lab. You'll be part of the process that helps bring new possibilities to patients. CMA, LPN, or Phlebotomy certification What You Bring to the Team Required Qualifications and Skills CMA, LPN, or Phlebotomy certification 1 to 3 years of experience in direct patient care or clinical research Knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic, and modern office practices and procedures Knowledge of standard office equipment and procedures Proficiency in Google Suite Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs Comfortable working directly with research participants, patients, and clinical teams Ability to follow detailed study protocols, laboratory manuals, and established procedures Ability to maintain accurate documentation and handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality CPR certification or the ability to obtain CPR certification within six months of the start date How You'll Make a Difference Assist with phlebotomy and blood draws for research participants and clinic patients. Process biological samples and prepare specimens according to study-specific laboratory manuals and established guidelines. Package and ship laboratory samples in accordance with regulatory requirements and IATA guidelines. Complete accurate laboratory requisition forms and ensure proper documentation of samples collected and shipped. Transport late-draw samples to courier drop-off locations, including UPS and FedEx, as needed to meet study timelines. Assist with maintaining laboratory equipment calibrations and monitoring and updating temperature logs. Support the proper management and disposal of medical and pharmaceutical waste. Perform daily and weekly cleaning of laboratory and clinical spaces. Maintain a general understanding of active research studies by participating in required study and protocol training. Prepare study laboratory kits and materials needed for upcoming scheduled patient visits. Assist Clinical Research Coordinators with obtaining medical records from outside healthcare facilities and other delegated research-related duties. Support in-clinic frequent sample sessions and learn to operate laboratory machines used to check blood glucose levels and support continuous glucose sensor accuracy. Track laboratory and study supply inventory and communicate supply needs to Clinical Research Coordinators. Prepare and stock exam rooms to ensure supplies are available for scheduled patient visits. Assist with managing medical supply inventory and ordering supplies monthly or as needed. Assist with organizing and removing expired or no longer needed laboratory kits and materials. Help ensure laboratory and research activities are completed in accordance with FDA, sponsor, and study-specific guidelines.
