This is an important role responsible for ensuring that our patients receive timely access to the diagnostic testing and procedures ordered by our physicians. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of insurance authorization processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, insurance companies, and radiology facilities. Key Responsibilities Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for radiology testing and procedures ordered by our physicians. Upload patient documentation to insurance company portals when required Coordinate and schedule radiology tests and procedures at appropriate facilities. Communicate appointment details, preparation instructions, and other necessary information to patients. Coordinate required clinical and insurance information with radiology facilities and insurance providers. Keep physicians and clinical staff informed regarding authorization status and scheduled testing. Follow up on pending authorizations and resolve issues or delays as needed. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure authorization and scheduling information are up to date. Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, patients, insurance companies, and outside facilities to ensure a smooth process from order to completion. Provide front desk coverage and administrative support when needed. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in obtaining medical prior authorizations, radiology scheduling, or a similar healthcare administrative role. Experience working with insurance companies and navigating prior authorization requirements. Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes Familiarity with radiology testing and IR procedures. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced medical practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach. Comfortable working independently while also functioning as part of a collaborative medical team. Experience in hematology/oncology is a plus but not required. Location & Schedule This position will share time between our Philadelphia and Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania locations , so the ability and willingness to work at both offices is required.
