A Clinical Investigator works on a clinical trial, and is responsible for ensuring that an investigation is conducted according to the signed investigator statement, the investigational plan, and applicable regulations; for protecting the rights, safety, and welfare of subjects under the investigator's care; and for the control of drugs under investigation. The Clinical Investigator must also meet requirements set forth by the FDA, EMA or other regulatory body. The qualifications must be outlined in a current resume and readily available for auditors.
Inova Children's and Inova Schar Cancer Institute are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist to join our Inova Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Team. Your role includes:
Deliver coordinated, multispecialty care to patients with brain tumors and other neurologic oncologic conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric oncology care with a team that includes pediatric neurosurgery, radiation oncology, neuro-radiology , clinical research, genetic counseling, pediatric palliative care, nutrition, and psychosocial support. Participate in the inpatient care team Provide clinical teaching and in-service education to medical students, residents, and fellows. Engage in pediatric oncology clinical research projects and studies, including translational efforts. Participate in multidisciplinary pediatric neuro-oncology care with a team that includes pediatric neurosurgery, radiation oncology, neuro-radiology , clinical research, genetic counseling, pediatric palliative care, nutrition, and psychosocial support. Our team includes 9 experienced Pediatric Hematology-Oncology physicians and 9 advanced practice providers who diagnose, manage, and treat all forms of childhood cancers, blood disorders, and bone marrow failure syndromes. Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
Board Certification:
Board eligible or board certified in
Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Experience:
successful completion of pediatric residency program and successful completion of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship.
Licensure:
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start
Payer Credentialing:
Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
Medical Staff Credentialing:
Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
