The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist 1/2/3 to join the Water Enforcement Section. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:

Review inspection reports, permit data, and referrals to identify violations of environmental regulations. Draft and issue enforcement actions; monitor compliance and escalate cases as needed. Prepare technical reports, compliance histories, and maintain detailed case documentation. Collaborate with internal teams, legal staff, and external stakeholders to resolve enforcement matters. Represent the agency at meetings, inspections, and public events to communicate enforcement policies.

Either a probationary appointment, a job appointment (a temporary appointment not to exceed four years), or promotion of a permanent classified employee. If the position is filled as a job appointment, it could be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available.

Compensation:

This position offers a Special Entrance Rate (SER) listed below. This is the minimum compensation that may be offered.
