Environmental Scientist — PhD $75,000/year | Full-Time | In-Person |
ABOUT US KC
Career Makers has some exciting opportunities for Environmental Science PhDs in the Kansas City area. We are looking for driven individuals passionate about Environmental Science looking to start a career.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
In this role, you will apply your environmental science expertise to technical and analytical work. Responsibilities vary by role but involve independent research, cross-functional collaboration, and communicating findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
REQUIREMENTS
PhD in Environmental Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution Deep subject matter knowledge across core areas of environmental science, including ecology, earth systems, and sustainability Demonstrated ability to explain complex environmental science concepts clearly and accurately to varied audiences Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, well-structured technical documents Experience presenting or teaching environmental science content — whether through coursework, mentorship, seminars, or outreach
PREFERRED
Experience developing or reviewing technical content, training materials, or instructional resources Peer-reviewed publications or other evidence of translating research into accessible written form A track record of making advanced environmental science topics understandable Comfort working across teams with varying levels of technical background
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$75,000/year base salary. Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k). This is a full-time, in-person position located in Kansas City, MO.
