Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Environmental Scientist I, where you will play a vital role in supporting environmental research, data collection, and analysis efforts across diverse projects. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in environmental science, contribute to meaningful initiatives related to water treatment, waste management, and public health, and gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and regulations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with environmental laws and standards while advancing sustainable practices in the field. Responsibilities Conduct field data collection activities related to water quality, waste management, and environmental conditions using standardized procedures. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software such as ArcGIS to map and analyze spatial data for environmental assessments. Assist in laboratory testing and analysis of samples to evaluate pollutant levels, water chemistry, and other environmental parameters. Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation to communicate research findings clearly and accurately, adhering to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) guidelines. Support compliance efforts by understanding OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and environmental law requirements relevant to project sites. Perform site inspections, monitor water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment plants, and oil & gas operations for adherence to safety and environmental protocols. Collaborate with team members on research initiatives, data analysis projects, and the development of environmental management plans using AutoCAD or similar tools when necessary. Skills Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS for spatial analysis and mapping tasks. Strong technical writing skills for preparing reports, procedures, and regulatory documentation. Data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets related to environmental parameters. Experience with data collection methods in field settings; familiarity with laboratory techniques is a plus. Knowledge of environmental regulations including EPA standards, OSHA safety protocols, and water/wastewater treatment processes. Mechanical knowledge relevant to water treatment systems or laboratory equipment operation. Familiarity with AutoCAD for drafting site plans or technical diagrams; understanding of environmental law is advantageous. Research experience in public health or environmental science fields; analysis skills for evaluating research data are essential. Awareness of EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) practices within industrial or field environments; experience in oil & gas sectors is beneficial. $42.00 - $43.00 per hour
