40 hours per week, starting at 7:00 AM Position Summary The Environmental Technician is responsible for supporting daily environmental operations, including Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program activities, field inspections, database updates, equipment calibration, environmental sampling, hazardous waste support, and compliance-related checks. This role requires dependable attendance, strong attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to complete both routine and assigned environmental tasks in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain the LDAR database, P&IDs, and LDAR tags. Perform LDAR field audits and related environmental inspections. Calibrate detection equipment and support minor repairs or preventative maintenance on LDAR equipment. Perform FLIR inspections and routine compliance checks. Collect water, waste, and air samples as needed for analysis. Organize analytical results and communicate with external laboratories. Complete incident reports and attend meetings as required. Maintain housekeeping in assigned work areas. Follow all safety procedures, work permits, and area work instructions. Accurately enter data into spreadsheets, email, databases, and other electronic formats. Attend required annual training for safety, environmental, quality, and human resources topics. Be available for overtime assignments as needed to cover vacation, sickness, special assignments, or routine tasks. Complete other duties as assigned by management. Required Education and Experience Some formal training in chemistry, biology, or a related field preferred. Equivalent laboratory, quality control, or chemical process experience may be considered. Chemistry or STEM degree preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Prompt, regular, and dependable attendance. Strong understanding of safety procedures and safe work practices. Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Basic understanding of LDAR equipment and its function. Ability to use Microsoft Office and accurately maintain electronic records. Ability to use plant communication systems as needed. Ability to follow work instructions and revise them with management approval when needed. Ability to accurately prepare time records. Willingness to work across diverse teams and communication styles. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Good mobility and ability to work up to 12 hours when needed. Ability to climb stairs, tanks, and equipment, including elevated structures. Comfort working at heights. Ability to work in inclement weather conditions. Good hearing and sense of smell.
