This position is ideal for someone interested in environmental testing, laboratory analysis, and hands-on technical work. The Environmental Laboratory Technician will assist with sample preparation, laboratory testing, documentation, quality control, and general laboratory operations. Training will be provided for qualified candidates. Responsibilities Perform environmental laboratory testing in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and quality assurance requirements. Prepare and analyze water and wastewater samples. Prepare reagents, standards, samples, and laboratory supplies. Perform routine laboratory calculations and accurately document analytical results. Follow Chain of Custody (COC), sample handling, preservation, and holding-time requirements. Assist with quality control procedures, including blanks, duplicates, standards, and other QC samples. Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, worksheets, logs, and electronic records. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as assigned. Assist with sample receiving, sample preparation, and disposal. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Follow laboratory safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with corrective actions and documentation when errors, defects, or nonconformances occur. Support other laboratory and field-sampling activities as needed. Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field preferred. Previous environmental laboratory or wet chemistry experience is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates. Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and techniques such as extraction, filtration, and dilution. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate documentation. Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork skills. Good communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications. Ability to lift to approximately 40 pounds and perform routine laboratory activities.
