We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Environmental Air Monitoring Technician to support projects in Hawaii. The position is primarily responsible for environmental perimeter air monitoring, accurate field documentation, data entry, and processing samples for laboratory analysis. The role combines field and office work and is well suited for someone who follows established procedures, maintains organized records, and works effectively with limited supervision. For a qualified candidate, this position may lead to expanded hours and full-time EHS work supporting environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, field inspections, documentation, and related project activities. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, inspect, and retrieve environmental perimeter air-monitoring equipment at construction, remediation, and industrial project sites. Collect particulate, dust, asbestos, and other environmental air samples in accordance with project-specific procedures and sampling plans. Perform required equipment checks, calibrations, flow verifications, and basic troubleshooting. Record field conditions, monitoring locations, sample times, flow rates, instrument readings, and observations clearly and accurately. Enter field and laboratory information into spreadsheets, databases, logs, and project forms; review entries for completeness and accuracy. Label, organize, package, and process samples; complete chain-of-custody records and coordinate sample delivery or shipment to laboratories. Maintain monitoring equipment, sampling supplies, batteries, filters, and field documentation in a clean and organized condition. Communicate monitoring results, equipment issues, exceedances, and other field conditions promptly to the project manager. Follow site-specific health and safety requirements and applicable quality-control procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or an Associate's degree in environmental science, occupational health, chemistry, biology, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience with environmental sampling, air monitoring, construction sites, laboratory sample handling, or field data collection is preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written sampling, documentation, and quality-control procedures. Accurate data-entry, recordkeeping, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and electronic file management. Ability to work independently in the field and communicate clearly with project managers and site personnel. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to project sites in Hawaii. Availability for variable part-time assignments, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends. Preferred Training and Certifications 40-hour

certification. Experience using air-sampling pumps, particulate monitors, weather instruments, or similar field equipment. Training in chain-of-custody procedures, sample packaging, and laboratory submittals. Asbestos-related training or certification is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry monitoring equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around construction-related noise, dust, and vehicle traffic while using required personal protective equipment.
