An Environmental Technician assists with testing and sampling or monitoring needed for environmental clean-up efforts or projects to mitigate environmental pollution. Assists environmental engineers or environmental scientists. Collects air, water or soil samples, operates field test equipment and conducts laboratory research. Coordinates work at sites with contaminated soil or water, or hazardous waste clean-up sites.

Job DescriptionThe Laboratory Technician is responsible for general environmental monitoring testing following written procedures and the execution of written protocols with limited supervision.
Various support tasks through the department assigned on an as-needed basis. Limited sample preparation, glassware cleaning, sample disposal and cleaning.
Routine use of computer applications, primarily Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel)Moderate use of basic lab equipment (i.e., balances, stir plates, hotplates, baths, etc.) and instrumentation (i.e., meters, spectrophotometers, balances, etc.)QualificationsAt least an Associate's degree in microbiology or other relevant subject. High school diploma with previous GMP environmental monitoring/microbiology work experience would be consideredStrong aseptic techniqueAbility to be on your feet for 4+ hours at a timeAbility to lift or move 20lbsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and OutlookAttention to detailProactive, self-starter with problem solving and multitasking skillsAdditional InformationPosition is part-time position, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with potential overtime or flexed hours as needed.
