Job Description

Loudoun Water has an immediate opening for an Industrial Pretreatment Technician at the Broad Run Water Reclamation Facility (BRWRF). The purpose of the pretreatment team is to protect POTW infrastructure from damage or disruptions caused by industrial wastewater, prevent pass-through of pollutants that cannot be treated, reduce hazardous, toxic or conventional pollutants at the source to safeguard treatment plant personnel, the public and the environment from harmful industrial/commercial discharges, and improve opportunities for reuse.
Essential functions include:
Conduct inspections of grease control devices, sedimentation tanks, and other pretreatment systems at commercial and industrial facilities. Collect wastewater samples in accordance with established procedures and quality assurance practices. Maintain accurate, detailed inspection documentation and sampling records. Verify compliance with relevant local, state and federal regulations, as well as interjurisdictional agreements. Assist and support Pretreatment Coordinators as needed, including fieldwork, data review and compliance followup. Collaborate effectively with other Loudoun Water staff and departments. Manage and implement multiple program requirements and prioritize tasks. Responsible for the calibration and maintenance of a variety of environmental monitoring equipment. Communicate findings professionally with facility representatives and internal staff. We are seeking a motivated, action-oriented individual that takes initiative, is enthusiastic, possesses a strong attention to detail and can maintain clear, organized records. Must be willing to learn and interpret various environmental regulations and apply them appropriately in real-world scenarios. Individuals must be capable of working independently and collaboratively with a team. Individuals must be technically skilled with various monitoring equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair as needed. Position requires the ability to lift 40 pounds.
Minimum requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferably including basic mathematics and science courses. Candidates must have a valid driver's license. Candidates with current VA Wastewater licenses of all classes are strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary Range:
$40,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Position will remain open until filled. EOE Apply online at www.loudounwater.org.
