The Fellow will play a key role in study implementation, data analysis, manuscript preparation, dissemination of research findings, and development of future research projects in collaboration with the study team. Responsibilities Support implementation and coordination of a randomized controlled trial evaluating e-cigarette cessation interventions among young adults in rural areas. Assist with participant recruitment, retention, and study procedures. Manage research data, including data quality monitoring, cleaning, documentation, and preparation for analysis. Conduct statistical analyses under the guidance of the investigative team. Assist with qualitative data collection and analysis. Contribute to interpretation of study findings. Attend regular project meetings and provide timely updates on scientific aspects of study progress, milestones, and ongoing research activities to the investigative team. Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications and presentations at conferences. Support dissemination of research findings to scientific and community audiences. Collaborate with interdisciplinary investigators, research staff, and community partners. Required Qualifications PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in nursing, public health, behavioral science, health sciences, psychology, epidemiology, or a related field (degree must be completed by the start date) Experience conducting research in human subjects research, behavioral interventions, or related fields Experience with quantitative data analysis and statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, or equivalent) Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare scientific manuscripts and presentations Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team Preferred Qualifications Experience with randomized controlled trials or intervention research Experience with tobacco/nicotine research, e-cigarette cessation, or health behavior change interventions Experience with longitudinal data analysis, clinical/behavioral trial data, or complex datasets Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis Experience preparing peer-reviewed publications and competitive grant proposals Experience working with rural, underserved, young, or diverse populations

Anticipated State Date :

Fall 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, contingent upon availability of funding and completion of the required hiring process.

Appointment and Renewal :

The initial appointment will be for one year, with renewal for an additional year or longer considered based on performance, availability of funding, and the needs of the research program. Candidates who are able to make a minimum two-year commitment are preferred.

Funding Contingency :

This position is contingent upon funding of the proposed NIH grant. The funding decision has not yet been finalized, and the position will be filled only if the grant is awarded.
