Infection Preventionist / Infection Control Officer (RN) - Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington, NC is seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as an Infection Preventionist / Infection Control Officer. This role is responsible for overseeing the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program while supporting resident safety, regulatory compliance, staff education, and quality clinical outcomes. Positive Team Culture Infection Preventionist / Infection Control Officer Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain the facility Infection Prevention and Control Program

Monitor infection surveillance data and identify trends

Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, CMS, and state regulations

Conduct infection control audits and implement corrective actions as needed

Educate and train staff on infection prevention protocols and best practices

Oversee outbreak investigations and response procedures

Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to promote resident safety

Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and infection tracking logs

Monitor antibiotic stewardship initiatives

Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities Qualifications Current and active North Carolina RN license required

Infection Preventionist certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred

Knowledge of infection prevention regulations and practices

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
