10/01/2026 - 06/30/2027 Pay rates: $30-35/hr all-inclusive Work Arrangement Hybrid schedule with a requirement to work on-site 1 day per week in Nashville, TN. Role Overview We are seeking a Public Health Epidemiologist to lead data analyses and evaluations of statewide initiatives aimed at reducing substance use, overdose, and related harms. This role sits within an Office of Informatics & Analytics and will translate complex health data into actionable insights for program leaders, partners, and policymakers. Key Responsibilities Evaluate overdose prevention and intervention strategies (e.g., prescribing limits, naloxone distribution, provider education). Analyze trends, hotspots, and risk factors for drug overdose using multiple health datasets. Produce reports and visualizations focused on buprenorphine, stimulants, and other substance-use indicators. Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports for internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with epidemiologists, program managers, and healthcare providers to inform prevention and intervention efforts. Ensure data quality, security, and confidentiality in line with HIPAA and applicable data-governance policies. Contribute to grant applications, research studies, and presentations as needed. Required Qualifications Master's degree in Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, or a closely related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in public health and analytics. Proficiency in at least one analytical language: R, SAS, or Stata. Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases. Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly to non-technical audiences. Knowledge of public health data sources and overdose or substance-use surveillance systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience linking and analyzing multiple health datasets (e.g., PDMP/CSMD, hospital discharge data, vital statistics death certificates, EMS data, etc.). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and dashboard development. Background in study design, statistical modeling, and scientific writing in a public health context. #

Nonit Pay:
