The Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for an Engineering Geologist. The position is located at 15095 Amargosa Rd., Bldg. 2 Suite 210, Victorville, CA 92394. The Lahontan Region encompasses many scenic vistas from the highest (Mount Whitney) and lowest (Death Valley) points in the contiguous US and diverse topography throughout. There are two Outstanding National Resource Waters, Lake Tahoe and Mono Lake, located in the Lahontan Region. Duties:
The Engineering Geologist (EG) is responsible for providing timely and professional assistance to the public and staff within the Department, by phone, e-mail, mail, and in person. The EG is required to work independently; communicate effectively; manage multiple projects and tasks; apply geologic methods and principles to evaluate and interpret hydrogeologic/geologic data in consideration of legislation, regulations, and policies; prepare correspondence and other documents; and conduct field work/inspections. Daily proficient utilization of Microsoft Office Suite and office equipment is required. The incumbent is expected to participate in training classes to increase knowledge in job requirements, performance, and proficiency.
