Company Description Geotechnical and Environmental Consultants, Inc. (GEC) is a locally-owned geotechnical engineering consulting firm based in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida. GEC is a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) with FDOT and has provided engineering services on many landmark public projects throughout Florida, including transportation legacy projects like SunRail Phases I, II, and III, Wekiva Parkway, I-4 Ultimate P3 Design Oversight and OIA South Terminal Airside and Landside Infrastructure. We offer a small business feel while having the opportunity to work on large scale projects across Florida! Role Description GEC is currently seeking a full-time Project Scientist/Geologist position Primary responsibilities will be to perform Phase I ESAs, Contamination Screening Evaluation Reports, and Level/Phase II ESAs. Requirements 0 - 5 years experience Bachelor's Degree or higher with a focus in Geology, Environmental Science or related field Able to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment with an energetic and professional demeanor Ability to comprehend/review aerial photographs, maps, construction drawings, etc. Able to perform office work including data research/interpretation and report preparation Capable of performing field work including site reconnaissance, hand auger boring soil classification and environmental sampling assignments Ability to drive company vehicle
