Field Geologist / Engineer - Columbus, OH Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Field Geologist/Engineer to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. What are we looking for? The Field Geologist/Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of assignments that include coordination of field activities with the home office, boring layout, utility clearance, oversight of drilling and sampling operations to project requirements, sample and subsurface logging of conditions

What you'll do: Provide representation in the field during the execution of Geotechnical Explorations of the subsurface Develop close, interpersonal relation with clients, subcontractors, and PSI staff to execute work to project specifications Prepares subsurface exploration field drilling logs Maintains and leverages client relationships and develops new project opportunities Attends client site meetings Communicates effectively with client and project teams Works on one or multiple projects at a time Performs on-site observations, sample collection, and specific field tests May work both in the field and laboratory occasionally Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
Minimum Requirement & Qualifications:
If no experience , 2/4-year degree in Geology, Engineering (applicable engineering field), Construction, or Earth Science from an accredited / ABET school is required•If no degree , 1+ years' experience in Geotechnical Drilling Operations and/or experience with site subsurface explorations or related activities may substitute for degree Must have basic math, calculator, and computer skills Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required The ability to read and understand work plans is required Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed Must be able to travel as business needs dictate, 50-75% of the time Valid driver's license and reliable driving record required
