Summary of Job Duties:

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II - Flow Cytometry performs complex laboratory testing and analysis of blood, bone marrow, tissue, and other clinical specimens using flow cytometry methodologies. This position is responsible for specimen processing, instrument operation, quality control, data analysis, and accurate reporting of results to support the diagnosis and monitoring of hematologic, immunologic, and other diseases

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology , Chemistry, or Biology

Valid ASCP Certification

Two or more years of experience working in a clinical laboratory

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous flow cytometry lab experience

Job Requirements:

This person will work under the supervision and direction of the Flow Cytometry supervisor.

Duties include processing, staining and analyzing routine specimens.

They will be expected to keep all instrumentation in good working order and identify and notify the supervisor of instrument malfunctions.

They should be able to aid in instrument repair.

They should be able to identify abnormal or discrepancy results.

They will have limited participation in student teaching and assisting of other personnel rotating through the section.

They will have limited administrative duties.
