Who You Are You have a preferred 2 years of clinical laboratory experience and a strong understanding of laboratory operations, quality standards, and patient-focused care. You are highly detail-oriented and able to exercise independent judgment when evaluating, interpreting, and reporting laboratory results within established testing protocols. You are proficient in the use of laboratory instrumentation, diagnostic equipment, and computer systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain workflow efficiency. You are committed to ongoing professional development, maintaining required competencies, and staying current with laboratory best practices. Experience performing moderate complexity testing, including urine microscopy and post-vasectomy sperm count analysis, is preferred. What You'll Do Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing to support the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of patients within the WakeMed Urology practice. Accurately evaluate, document, and report patient test results while utilizing sound clinical judgment and adhering to established laboratory procedures. Operate, maintain, and perform quality control on laboratory equipment, instruments, and systems to ensure reliable and accurate testing outcomes. Maintain laboratory readiness by supporting inventory management, equipment maintenance, regulatory compliance, and safe laboratory practices. Collaborate with providers and teammates while assisting with the training and onboarding of new employees and students, serving as a knowledgeable resource within the laboratory.
