Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, and maintaining laboratory equipment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver accurate and timely test results that support patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, quality assurance protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Laboratory Testing & Analysis Perform accurate and timely tests across various disciplines (e.g., Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Phlebotomy). Ensure proper reporting, quality control, and troubleshooting of test results. Training & Competency Assist in training new and existing staff and participate in competency assessments. Equipment & Instrument Maintenance Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring proper function and availability of supplies. Documentation & Recordkeeping Maintain accurate test records, verify lab orders, and ensure proper documentation of results. Communication Communicate critical results to medical staff and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and patients. Safety & Compliance Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines throughout laboratory processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) by an accredited certification agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT) preferred. Strong knowledge and understanding of laboratory testing procedures across multiple disciplines. Proficient in laboratory information systems and standard operating procedures. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to troubleshoot problems. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
