Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Telemetry/EKG Instructor to join our healthcare education team. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive instruction on electrocardiogram (EKG) and telemetry monitoring techniques, ensuring students develop the skills necessary to excel in clinical settings. Your expertise will help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals by providing engaging, accurate, and practical training. Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging curriculum content on EKG interpretation, telemetry monitoring, and related medical terminology. Conduct hands-on clinical training sessions in simulated or real healthcare environments, emphasizing patient care and safety. Assess student performance through evaluations, practical demonstrations, and ongoing feedback to promote continuous improvement. Incorporate learning technologies such as LMS (Learning Management Systems) and Blackboard to facilitate online instruction and resource sharing. Collaborate with clinical research teams to integrate current best practices, medical research articles, and emerging trends into instructional materials. Review documentation and student progress reports to ensure compliance with educational standards and clinical protocols. Support students' understanding of anatomy, pathology, radiology, anesthesiology, cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), oncology, psychiatry, internal medicine, critical care, nursing practices, and other relevant specialties. Requirements Proven experience in clinical instruction or teaching within a healthcare setting, preferably with college faculty experience. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to cardiology, radiology, pathology, anesthesiology, and other medical specialties. Familiarity with learning technology platforms such as LMS systems (e.g., Blackboard) and online instruction tools. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of documentation review processes and laboratory or hospital experience is advantageous. Ability to adapt curriculum development strategies for adult education and higher education contexts. Experience working in acute care or hospital environments related to telemetry monitoring or EKG interpretation is preferred.
