Job Description
The Meteorologist forecasts weather conditions and produces and anchors weather reports for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers. Produce and present weather/news reports for all platforms Ensure that all weather content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality Write and deliver weather stories in a clear and concise manner Assist in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating weather programming and other content Respond to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent weather situations as required Available for extended shifts during severe weather season Work closely with other meteorologists to develop comprehensive weather coverage Participate in promotional activities including public appearances, community service events, and live newscasts Interact with viewers and users on social media sites The winning candidate will have a solid following on the web and social media Co-anchor the morning and noon newscasts - must be personable and have the ability to ad lib with co-anchor as well as read a teleprompter
