OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations (FTS) owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations, including stations in 14 of the top 15 markets and duopolies in 11. Eighteen are FOX Network affiliates, and together the stations produce approximately 1,300 hours of local news every week. FOX LOCAL, the company's free ad-supported digital and streaming product, extends that news, weather and local content across connected TV & mobile devices. LiveNOW from FOX expands the FTS portfolio even further as the only national streaming services to be truly live 24/7, covering breaking news and events as they happen.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporter/Meteorologist to cover Austin, the Hill Country, and San Antonio across live streams, social media, FOX7Austin.com, and linear newscasts. You'll report on major weather and community stories, deliver live updates during severe weather, and create engaging content for every platform. This role is part of our news team, with opportunities to work both in the field and in the studio. We need a strong storyteller who can think beyond traditional TV news packages and create compelling video, text, graphics, and social content. At least three years of reporting and/or meteorology experience Strong live, digital, and social-media skills Ability to shoot, write, edit, and produce content independently Experience covering severe weather and breaking news A passion for serving Central and South Texas communities Fill-in anchor experience is a plus We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $50,000.00-60,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
