Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring for a leading life sciences organization known for supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality operations in Greenville, NC.
Position Details Location:

Up to $27/hour
Contract:
1-year contract with potential for direct hire
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00
PM On-Call:
Approximately once every 5-6 weeks, including potential weekend coverage
Holiday Coverage:
At least one holiday per year may be required

Microsoft Teams Position Overview The QC Scientist I will support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations by performing microbiological and bioanalytical quality control testing to help ensure the safety, quality, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products. This position will perform testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples while working within a highly regulated GMP/cGMP laboratory environment . Testing may include sterility, bacterial endotoxin, particulate matter, membrane filtration, TOC, and conductivity . The successful candidate will generate accurate laboratory data, maintain thorough documentation, evaluate results against established specifications, and work closely with Quality Assurance and cross-functional teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a Bachelor's-level Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related science graduate looking to build hands-on experience within a pharmaceutical quality control environment. Key Responsibilities Perform microbiological and bioanalytical testing in support of pharmaceutical manufacturing and product release.
Conduct testing that may include:
Sterility testing Bacterial endotoxin testing Particulate matter Membrane filtration Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Conductivity Generate accurate and reliable laboratory data in accordance with established procedures. Document testing procedures, observations, calculations, and results in laboratory notebooks and applicable electronic systems. Compare laboratory results against established specifications and acceptance criteria. Identify and communicate unexpected or potentially out-of-specification results. Work with Quality Assurance and management to determine appropriate next steps, including repeat testing or OOS investigations when applicable. Perform assigned laboratory activities according to established schedules and target completion dates. Maintain laboratory equipment and report equipment issues or abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Follow applicable SOPs, GMP, GLP, safety, and data-integrity requirements . Collaborate with teams across Quality, Manufacturing, and other functional areas to resolve problems and improve efficiency. Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality objectives. Maintain all required training and compliance qualifications. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred fields of study include:
Biology Chemistry Biochemistry Microbiology Or another closely related scientific discipline No prior professional experience required. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established laboratory procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Logical approach to scientific problem-solving. Ability to accurately document laboratory activities and maintain data integrity. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment. Preferred Experience Experience or academic exposure to: Microbiological testing Microbial identification Environmental monitoring Aseptic techniques Sterility testing Endotoxin testing Pharmaceutical or biotechnology laboratories GMP/cGMP environments Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Cleanroom laboratory practices Pharmaceutical or other regulated laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule & On-Call Requirements Regular Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM In addition to the regular schedule: On-call coverage approximately once every 5-6 weeks On-call responsibilities may include weekend work Holiday coverage may be required, with employees expected to cover at least one holiday per year Candidates should be comfortable with these requirements before proceeding. Physical & Laboratory Environment This is a fully onsite laboratory position .
Candidates should be comfortable with:
Standing and walking for extended periods. Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Lifting and moving materials weighing approximately 10-35 pounds , with the position potentially requiring lifting up to 50 pounds . Performing tasks requiring manual dexterity. Working at a computer and reviewing technical documentation for extended periods. Working in cleanroom environments . Following strict contamination-control and laboratory safety procedures.

Pay Details:
