This role will encompass preparation and analysis for environmental microbiology samples. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation and analysis of a variety of environmental samples for analysis by direct microscopy Reading and identifying fungi in spore trap and tape samples using optical microscopy Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Life Science-required Biology or Microbiology preferred Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus Experience with spore traps, direct microscopic exam, other culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plus Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practices Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitude Effective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistance
Available Shift:
Position is full time, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Training Shift to start will be Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Flexible) Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Cinnaminson, NJ are encouraged to apply EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
