Job Description

Medical Physicist (Certified) opening in south-central Iowa. Join this collaborative clinical team delivering cutting-edge radiation therapy while driving quality, innovation, and regulatory excellence. Why You Should Apply Full time position working with a t eam of: 4 Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, 5 Dosimetrists, 12+ Therapists and 5 Nurses $25,000 sign-on bonus + relocation assistance Will consider the potential remote work flexibility, but onsite is required Work with advanced modalities: SRS, HDR, IOeRT Collaborative environment with radiation oncologists & clinical leaders About You Be able to do the job as described. MS in Medical Physics or PhD Board Certified Physicist (ABR or ABMP) required Eligible for Authorized Medical Physicist (Iowa preferred) 3-5 years clinical radiation physics experience preferred Expertise in SRS, HDR, brachytherapy & advanced QA processes

  • at version 18.2 Linacs
  • TrueBeam (installed 2023), Halcyon (installed 2022), TrueBeam Edge (installed June 2025) Bravos HDR CT Scanners
  • GE Discovery with GateCT and Deviceless 4D capability, GE Lightspeed used mainly for HDR patients.
(will be replaced in 2026) VisionRT Center of Excellence with VisionRT on all three linacs including InBore on the Halcyon. Physics equipment and applications o Sun Nuclear devices and corresponding software including Daily QA 3s, IC Profiler, ArcCheck, SRSMapCheck, MapCheck, 3D tank, and 1D tank o Radformation software including ClearCheck, ClearCalc, AutoContour, EZFluence, ChartCheck, and RadMachine o Various ion chambers and electrometers as well as a well chamber What You'll Be Doing Maintain and evaluate accelerators, brachytherapy & simulation systems External Beam Treatments
  • 80 patients a day. Types of treatments include SRS, SRT, SBRT, VMAT, 3D, Electrons, and HyperArc. HDR Treatments
  • Treat mostly prostate and GYN; 4+ prostates a month; 5+ GYN a month with cylinders, tandem and ring, or interstitial.
Involved in various trials and protocols. Perform radiopharmaceutical treatments (I-131, Pluvicto, Lutathera, etc.) Perform GammaTile treatments. Support dosimetry and oversee therapist technical activities Ensure safe, accurate delivery of therapeutic radiation Oversee QA, calibration, commissioning & acceptance testing of equipment Implement updates to planning systems, software & measurement tools
