The Office of the Mayor has a current vacancy for a Graduate Intern. The intern will work in a professional environment in the office of the Mayor and Council and will work on community engagement, communications, newsletters, social media, and related projects. The City of Chula Vista is located at the center of one of the richest cultural, economic and environmentally diverse zones in the United States. It is the second-largest City in San Diego County with a population of over 280,000. Chula Vista boasts more than 52 square miles of coastal landscape, canyons, rolling hills, mountains, quality parks, and miles of trails. Position:
The Graduate Intern will provide support to the Mayor's office by performing research, data analysis, providing reports, attending events, creating graphics and content for social media, posting, and editing on all social media platforms. This position may perform paraprofessional level work specific to the department's needs; use initiative and application of skills and education; work semi-independently and be resourceful and systematic in approach to various assignments and tasks; and may be responsible for a significant level of a department project or be part of the project team. Experience and Training Current enrollment in a Graduate degree program (e.g., Master's, Doctorate or Juris Doctorate degree program) or completion of Bachelor's degree. Degree program is to be in a related field to the department's mission. Previous work experience is not required. Please include a resume with your application.
