Research Associate - Hayward, CA About Predicine Predicine is a global molecular insights company committed to advancing precision medicine in oncology and infectious disease diagnostics. Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to support routine laboratory operations and next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based cancer genomics workflows. This role will contribute to research sample processing, assay development support, and overall laboratory efficiency, including inventory management, reagent quality control, and instrument maintenance. Key Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory procedures, including pre-analytical sample preparation, plasma isolation, and nucleic acid extraction from various specimen types (plasma, serum, blood, cell lines, FFPE, fresh tissue, urine, etc.). Execute daily NGS workflows, including library preparation, target enrichment, and sample loading on Illumina sequencing platforms. Support scientists in assay development activities. Assist with sample accessioning, tracking, storage, and management. Operate and maintain critical laboratory instrumentation (e.g., thermocyclers, Bioanalyzer, Qubit, sequencers). Perform laboratory data entry, basic data processing, and troubleshooting. Document assay-related batch records and maintain accurate lab documentation. Support inventory management of reagents and consumables. Assist in preparing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and reports. Perform other duties as assigned. The position requires the candidate to be on-site, full-time in Hayward, CA Relocation is not supported for this role Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 4+ years, or Master's degree with 2+ years, in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Strong foundation in molecular biology or biochemistry, with solid laboratory techniques and documentation practices. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and drive projects forward. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Experience with laboratory automation is a plus. Why Join Predicine? Final compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, location, internal equity, and market data. The salary range may be adjusted during the hiring process if the role level or location changes.
