Job Title:
Field Research Assistant $17.50/hr Job Description We are seeking dedicated Field Research Assistants to join our team and support our multi-crop research station. This role involves performing a variety of routine tasks that are seasonal in nature, primarily focused on hand harvesting and other field operations. The ideal candidates will be adaptable and ready to contribute to different stages of our research program, both indoors and outdoors. Responsibilities Conduct field research operations including planting, thinning, weeding, pollination, and sample harvesting. Perform sample processing operations such as preparation of supplies, sorting, scanning, weighing, shipping preparation, and seed packaging. Assist with general facility operations including clean-up, organization of samples and supplies, and other routine tasks. Collaborate with the supervising Field Technician to perform additional tasks as needed. Essential Skills Experience in production line and farm work. Physical fitness to work in fields and walk on uneven grounds. Ability to hand harvest corn in various weather conditions. Reliability and ability to follow instructions. Safety consciousness. Basic computer and iPad skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to work well with others. Basic computer skills for tasks such as scanning barcodes. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role requires working from 7:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. The work environment is primarily outdoors, which includes exposure to heat, mud, and dust. The position involves hands-on tasks, requiring physical activity and adaptability to weather conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Windfall, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
