Research Analyst I, Formulations

Job Description

We are seeking a Formulation Research Analyst I to join our Safety Assessment team in Mattawan, Michigan. In this laboratory-based role, you will prepare, mix, and document research formulations that support preclinical studies and scientific research programs. Friday•Monday, 6:00 AM•2:30
PM Training Schedule:
Monday•Friday, 6:00 AM•2:30 PM during the first 12 weeks of employment What You'll Do As a Formulation Research Analyst I, you will: Prepare formulations, dosing materials, and research samples according to study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Mix and prepare solutions, suspensions, diets, and other formulation materials using approved methods and equipment Accurately document laboratory procedures, calculations, observations, and results Sterilize laboratory equipment using autoclaves and other approved methods Clean, maintain, and organize laboratory spaces, equipment, and glassware Support laboratory investigations, deviations, and corrective actions as needed Assist with equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting Handle, transport, and dispose of formulation materials and laboratory waste according to established procedures Collaborate with scientific staff, laboratory personnel, and internal stakeholders to support study objectives Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements Follow all safety, quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements
Job Requirements Education:
Associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent in chemistry/pharmacy or related discipline preferred. Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) desired.
Experience:
3-5 years related experience in formulations. Six months to one year in a leadership role desired.
Other:
A mathematical aptitude required. Demonstrated leadership and word processing skills. Effective written and verbal skill Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa, now or in the future. Work Environment This role requires working in a laboratory setting and performing tasks such as: Standing or sitting for extended periods Performing detailed calculations and documentation Operating laboratory instruments and equipment Lifting, reaching, and handling laboratory materials Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Working with chemicals, laboratory reagents, biological materials, and research-related substances Potential exposure to laboratory odors, fumes, airborne particles, and allergens Specific vision requirements include close vision, color differentiation, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation Starting Pay :
$23.50 per hour
Additional Pay :
10% shift differential for hours worked on Saturday and Sunday. Compensation may vary based on experience, education, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
