Field Research Assistant 12 month Contract - Opportunity for extensions up to $32.26/hr., depending on experience Creve Coeur, MO Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Research Engineer to support research and testing activities for agricultural applications. This role is primarily focused on managing laboratory operations, conducting experiments, operating and maintaining research equipment, and collecting high-quality data. This position offers an opportunity to support innovative agricultural research through hands-on laboratory, testing, and equipment operations in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Prepare, organize, and process research samples and test materials. Conduct experiments and testing activities using laboratory and engineering equipment according to established protocols. Collect, record, and organize research data using laboratory instruments and computer systems. Analyze and summarize experimental data and prepare reports, charts, and presentations to communicate findings. Manage laboratory inventory, supplies, and equipment readiness to support research activities. Provide technical support to scientists and engineers and assist with the evaluation of new equipment, processes, and technologies as needed. Required Qualifications Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field with 2+ years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant professional experience. Experience operating, testing, or maintaining laboratory, industrial, or engineering equipment. Basic engineering and programming skills, including experience with technical equipment and at least one programming language such as Python, C#, or C++. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders. Ability to work full-time on-site at St. Louis, Missouri research facilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting agricultural research, laboratory operations, or scientific experiments. Experience with engineering equipment, instrumentation, automation systems, or lab test equipment. Experience working in a multidisciplinary research or engineering environment.
