Li Industries is an innovative and fast-growing climate tech company developing next-generation lithium-ion battery recycling technologies. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Pineville, NC, Li Industries has developed scalable direct recycling technologies for lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles and consumer electronics. We are looking for a motivated and resourceful technician to help us develop our technologies that are essential for improving the sustainability of portable electronics, electric mobility and power for AI centers.
Role Description:
Job type: Full-time Materials Characterization Technician This is a hands-on role working on battery materials characterization and testing based on the standard operating procedures The role will directly interact with scientists and engineers to improve our battery materials product
Key Responsibilities:
Perform material characterization tests on battery materials following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Operate and maintain material characterization instruments Prepare material samples, conduct tests, and document data with high level of accuracy and detail Analyze test results, identify deviations, and report findings to engineers and scientists Ensure compliance with safety regulations, laboratory protocols, and quality control standards. Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing test methods Document procedures, test results, and observations in laboratory notebooks and electronic databases
Qualifications:
Must have an associate degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is a plus. 1-3 years of hands-on experience in material characterization, preferably in battery materials, energy storage, or related field Hands-on battery assembly and testing experience is a plus. Experienced with general chemistry lab operations, including sample preparation and chemical handling, and lab chemical inventory management Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures including general lab safety and chemical safety Familiar with quality control standards Attention to details Documentation and data recording skills Effective communication and collaboration with team members.
