Job SummaryThe University of Michigan has an exciting and enriching opportunity available for a responsible, organized, and motivated individual. Our office is hiring a Research Technician Lead to work on a long-running stroke research project. This position is in Corpus Christi, TX.Responsibilities

•Serve as recruitment team liaison, coordinating baseline recruitment efforts including:


Monitor all pending participants and ensure approaches are conducted in hospital and in a timely manner and regular follow-up is being conducted Collaborate with study management on identifying areas of improvement and implementing new strategies as needed to increase efficiency and effectiveness in recruitmentSchedule recruitment team members for/and conduct approaches and interviews on evenings and weekendsAssist study management with monitoring participation rates overall and by coordinator and meet with coordinators to review success rates and provide feedbackParticipate in training new and existing staff conducting screening/recruitmentCoordinate with local contacts and hospital staff to initiate recruitmentScreening medical records to identify stroke patients according to project protocols. Upload relevant patient documentation to database and perform quality control of imports and screened cases.



Approach identified stroke patients and discuss potential participation in the studyConduct baseline interviews with participants.



Schedule participant appointments and conduct phone calls for reminders, scheduling, interviews, and data collection purposesAbstract health information from participating patients' electronic medical record from area hospitals; enter abstracted data into standard data collection toolOther research duties as assignedRequired Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree and 3 years of research experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience of reviewing medical records to meet research protocols.



Desired Qualifications

•Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills preferred to serve the Spanish-speaking population.

Work LocationsThis position is in Corpus Christi, Texas and requires on-site work. Position requires evening and weekend shifts. This is not a remote position.



Additional InformationThis is a one-year, term-limited appointment, with possibility of extension based on performance and funding.
