The College of Science at Utah Valley University is seeking students to provide research support for an ongoing scientific project examining microplastic pollution. This will include but is not limited to collecting samples in the field, processing field samples to remove contaminants, analyze field samples for microplastics, maintaining a safe and clean laboratory environment, producing summaries and reports on laboratory findings, attending research group meetings and disseminate findings to the great community through posters and presentations. Must be a current UVU student High school diploma or equivalent education Must have completed (and passed)
CHEM 1220
Chemistry and/or physics majors preferred Good verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Professionalism Organization skills Computer skills (Internet, Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Ability to be a team player Basic understanding of General Chemistry principles such as intermolecular forces and the nature of bonding.
