PhD; MD, PhD with prior experience in this role Position Summary The Assistant Professor / Associate Professor/ Full Professor of Medical Student Research & Scholarly Activity / Research Scientist provides leadership for the development, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and continuous improvement of research and scholarly activities involving students and faculty at Xavier University School of Medicine (XUSOM). The Professor is responsible for establishing a sustainable institutional culture of research and scholarship and ensuring that students have meaningful opportunities to participate in research throughout their medical education. A central responsibility of the position is to actively identify, encourage, recruit, and mentor students and faculty in research. The Professor will assist students in identifying appropriate topics, formulating research questions, developing protocols, obtaining necessary ethical approvals, conducting and analyzing research, and disseminating their findings through abstracts, presentations, posters, and peer-reviewed publications. The Professor will also work closely with faculty, clinical partners, healthcare institutions, and external collaborators to expand the University's research portfolio and create sustainable opportunities for student and faculty scholarship..
