Position Summary:
The Work Study Program provides eligible undergraduate and graduate students with part-time employment to help meet their educational expenses while providing valuable work experience. Work study is restricted to students not simultaneously serving as a Graduate or Resident Assistant. Positions include both need-based federal work study and non-need based Institutional work study with flexible work hours ranging from ten to fifteen hours per week.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Do not disclose confidential information. Be willing to work. Be prompt and reliable in attendance and work scheduled hours until the end of the semester. Notify supervisor prior to any absence. Dress appropriately for job in which employed. Represent Henderson in a positive manner. Meet policies provided by department. Other duties as assigned

Basic knowledge of office equipment, exhibits professionalism, good communication skills
General Days/Hours:
Provide a ten (10) minute break for student worker who works three consecutive hours.

Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M. CST on the position closing date Supervisor will evaluate student worker each semester. Evaluation will be added to student's permanent file. Discuss evaluation before it is submitted to Financial Aid Office. Discuss any conflict or misunderstanding of work policies or regulations first with immediate supervisor. Unresolved issues may be referred to Financial Aid Office.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Annually complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Submit all required documents so Financial Aid Office can determine eligibility for work study.
  • Remain enrolled at least half-time (6 hours in fall/spring, 3 hours in summer) for Federal Work Study and full-time (at least 12 hours in fall/spring, enroll in at least 3 hours for summer and remain enrolled for the term) for Institutional Work Study. Failure to do so will result in immediate termination.
  • Meet HSU Satisfactory Progress requirements.
  • Cannot be Graduate Assistant or Resident Assistant while on Work Study.
  • Before beginning work, must sign an Offer Letter and complete the New Hire Packet within the Taleo Talent Center
  • Upon resignation or dismissal from a work study assignment, not eligible for another work study position in the same semester.
