Reporting Structure and Supervision:
Amanda Talaba talabaal@herkimer.edu Main Focus of position : Provide support in the
Business, Health, Sciences and Technology Division:
Johnson Hall Science Laboratory prep
Responsibilities:
Washing glassware/general cleaning in JH laboratories Supply inventory and organization aquarium maintenance/fish care assistance (2 cichlid tanks) greenhouse: plant care basic laboratory work as assigned
Qualifications:
Moderate computer usage skills including email and Teams. Must reliably communicate and check email. Must be dependable, personable, and able to work independently where necessary Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols Science/health major or strong interest in science/health fields
Additional Information:
Hours/days flexible (to be determined) with student's schedule, between 8am and 4pm Job will include training in basic science laboratory techniques as needed including:
  • preparing solutions
  • preparing bacterial culture media/sterile technique
  • fruit fly culture
