The Geospatial Systems Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing geospatial data across the portfolio of assets, developing systems tools, and supporting data needs across the organization. The successful candidate will have a unique mix of technical and practical skills, be a fast learner, and have a passion for carbon-driven forest management. Additionally, the position will require strong data management skills, a working knowledge of forest inventory, forest stand data attributes, and common forest asset-related geospatial products, and passion and creativity around systems implementation, design, and improvement. Key Responsibilities Spatial Data Management Manage, maintain, and update spatial and related attribute data across the portfolio Responsible for consistent data and system processes across all business lines and teams Edit and update shapefiles including property/project boundaries, stand and tract layers, and harvest layers Develop data policies and standards, track issues, and ensure data are accurate and current Manage and perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly data and tool updates Work and collaborate with third-party Forest Information System (FIS) software providers Upload data sets into FIS and manage geospatial connectivity Collaborate with Aurora teams and 3 rd party land managers on data management Promote cross-functional inventory and geospatial data maintenance processes Tools and Product Development Develop tools and dashboards to improve data management processes, automate common tasks, and ensure summarize key geospatial information Perform statistical analyses of inventory and other data sets Prepare maps for written and dashboard reports, memos, 3 rd party contractors, clients, and more Required Education and Experience BA/BS degree in forestry or forest science, natural resource management, environmental studies, and/or geospatial sciences Master's degree in forestry or forest sciences and/or geospatial science preferred 2 or more years' professional experience in forestry, forest management, forest investing, or an equivalent combination. Familiarity with timberland investments, timberland operations, or forest/natural resource consulting Design and/or implementation of forest data management systems - connecting spatial layers to various platforms Highly proficient in ESRI products, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online Experience in data queries and analysis (e.g., SQL), and experience automating GIS processes using scripting (e.g., Python) Familiarity with R Familiarity with FVS or similar modeling tools Experience designing and implementing a virtual machine for automated processes and improved geospatial processing Expertise and passion for data management and systems planning Enthusiasm for using environmental markets to address critical climate challenges Domestic travel and to Canada are expected approximately 5% of the time
