The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is responsible for managing and protecting the state's renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life. LDWF supports a strong work ethic in its employees and incorporates the use of good science, accurate information, and technology. This Biologist DCL-B position provides professional support for the review and evaluation of LDWF education and outreach programs. The position reviews program effectiveness, develops performance measures, analyzes program data, provides recommendations, and assists staff with program development, documentation, and compliance. The position also supports outreach to traditional and nontraditional audiences and programs funded through Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration. A bachelor's degree in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus six years of experience in wildlife or fisheries, forestry, or environmental science; OR A non-thesis master's degree in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus five years of the required specialized experience; OR A master's degree with a completed thesis or a doctorate in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus four years of the required specialized experience. Supplemental Qualifications Four years of experience in fisheries management or wildlife management; one year of this experience must be in either grants management, project development, project management, or permitting of various activities. Job Duties:

Reviews education and outreach programs, projects, events, and initiatives to assess effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with agency priorities. Develops and applies program objectives, performance measures, and evaluation methods. Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of education and outreach initiatives designed to increase public awareness and participation in LDWF programs. Provide technical assistance to staff developing educational programs, outreach campaigns, workshops, demonstrations, tours, recreational opportunities, and public engagement activities.
